Jaylen Brown trade rumors are nothing new—they’ve followed the Boston Celtics star since he cracked the starting lineup. But this time, the chatter feels different, sparked by recent comments from Brown himself and his inner circle after a disappointing playoff exit. Now, NBA insider Chris Mannix has dropped a name that’s turning heads: the Atlanta Hawks.
Speaking on "NBA on NBC," Mannix revealed that the Hawks are a team to watch for a potential Brown trade. "Jaylen is a Georgia native," he noted, adding some hometown flavor to the mix. But the intrigue goes deeper. "Last offseason, the Celtics and Hawks did have a brief conversation about Jaylen Brown," Mannix shared. "It didn’t really go anywhere."
So why the stall? According to Mannix, Atlanta was hesitant about Brown’s contract—at the time, the richest in NBA history. "They weren’t really in a position to go all in," he explained. "And the Celtics were not looking to give Jaylen Brown away, either."
But that was then. After a season that didn’t meet expectations in Atlanta, Mannix believes the Hawks could reignite their interest. "That’s a team, given what happened this season, that I could see getting interested in Jaylen Brown," he said. He also pointed to other potential suitors—Miami, Houston, Golden State—teams that might pivot from chasing Giannis Antetokounmpo to making a run at Brown instead. "I think that situation bears watching," Mannix added.
For now, Brown remains a Celtic, but with the trade winds blowing, his future is anything but certain. Whether he stays in Boston or heads back to his home state, one thing is clear: this is a storyline every NBA fan will want to follow.
