Kansas City’s fifth-round pick is getting acclimated to his new surroundings with familiar faces.

It's always easier to adjust to a new team when you've got familiar faces in the locker room, and that's exactly the situation for Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Cyrus Allen. The fifth-round pick out of Cincinnati is settling in nicely, thanks in no small part to a certain superstar tight end who also happens to be a fellow Bearcat.

During the Chiefs' rookie minicamp opener, Allen revealed that Travis Kelce was one of the first veterans to reach out and welcome him to the organization. "He's a Cincinnati guy, so that was exciting to really chop it up with him for real," Allen said with a smile.

The rookie couldn't help but marvel at Kelce's legendary status back at their alma mater. "Man, it's crazy. I ain't going to lie. I think he got a lot of stuff named after him," Allen shared. "I think the hotel that we were at, I think our key card is a picture of him on it. I'm like, 'This is Travis Kelce.' That's crazy. I wish I could get that treatment."

But Allen isn't the only Cincinnati connection making waves in Kansas City. His college teammate, Jeff Caldwell, signed with the Chiefs last week as an undrafted rookie free agent. While Caldwell is still raw and working on refining his route running, his elite athleticism is impossible to ignore. In fact, he posted the second-best Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of any wide receiver over the past two decades.

When asked about his former teammate, Allen didn't hold back his praise. "Man, Jeff is a dog. I ain't going to lie to you. Jeff is a dog. He's 6 feet 5, 6 feet 6 inches tall, one of them heights," Allen joked. "He's talented. I was amazed that he got signed here."

Day 1 of rookie camp certainly turned heads, with Omari Evans making a strong impression by hauling in multiple passes during 11-on-11 drills, including a highlight-reel over-the-shoulder grab. Allen himself had a productive day, showcasing his ability with several catches—including a particularly impressive snag in tight coverage.

With the Kelce connection already established and a familiar college teammate by his side, Allen is off to a promising start in Chiefs Kingdom. For fans looking to rep their favorite rookies or grab some fresh Chiefs gear, now's the perfect time to stock up on the latest arrivals.
