Kansas City officially introduces the undrafted free agents to get familiar with.

The Kansas City Chiefs have officially announced the signing of 20 undrafted free agents, just ahead of their annual rookie minicamp kicking off on Friday. This marks a significant step in building depth and competition for the roster as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

While several names were already known—including former Cincinnati wide receiver Jeff Caldwell and Wyoming tight end John Michael Gyllenborg, a Rockhurst High School alumnus from Kansas City—the full list has now been confirmed, adding intrigue to the mix. These signings represent a crucial opportunity for players to prove themselves outside the draft spotlight.

Chiefs Vice President of Player Personnel Ryne Nutt expressed strong enthusiasm about this year’s undrafted class, noting on Monday that it could be one of the most promising groups the team has seen. "We’re very excited," Nutt said. "We think this is going to be one of the better free agent classes we’ve had. They’re going to come in and they’re going to push. It doesn’t matter where you’re drafted or how you come into the Chiefs organization. It’s what you do to create value for yourself. We feel like there’s a lot of guys here who are going to create value and push some of the players we have drafted, or some of the guys on our team. We’re super excited about it. I think at rookie minicamp, you’re going to see it."

With these additions, the Chiefs roster now stands at 91 players, the maximum allowed under league rules, thanks to tackle Chu Godrick playing under an international player exemption. This influx of talent not only deepens the squad but also sets the stage for intense competition as players vie for spots on the final roster. For fans, this is a chance to spot potential breakout stars who could make an impact in the season ahead.
