Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has bizarrely tried to claim that the players ran their socks off against Brighton last night.
Chelsea were absolutely torn apart by Brighton, losing 3-0 on the night. And if there is one thing I am sure about after watching that absolute garbage, is that Chelsea’s players did not collectively ‘run their socks off’.

In fact, it was the reason we lost the game. Brighton just wanted it much more, worked much harder, ran much faster, were more physical, winning all the second balls, and were mentally more up for it too. So for Chalobah to claim this further below, is just pure deluded nonsense.

In words picked up on X last night, Chalobah reacted to the performance:
“I think the boys were running their socks off. If you look in the dressing room, everyone is tired. It’s nothing to do with effort. We gave it our all. We got beat today. We ran today. The stats are stats. The boys are tired.”
Well that might be the biggest load of c**p I’ve heard in a long time after a Chelsea game. Sigh.
Chelsea have still been outrun by every single Premier League team in every single Premier League game this season. And they were outrun by Brighton last night too.
Gary Cahill tried his best to be positive about Chelsea’s performance against Brighton, but even he found today’s game a “hard watch” and says there were “no positives”.
Chelsea’s loss at Brighton means they’ve lost fives league games without scoring for the first time since 1912. So they have now broken one of the oldest records in history.
