Liam Rosenior has admitted it will be hard for Chelsea to secure a top-five finish and Champions League qualification but has promised his side won’t give up.

Chelsea have lost four consecutive Premier League games to slip seven points adrift of Liverpool in the final Champions League position.

The club’s poor run of form has opened up the threat of missing out on Europe entirely. Just three points separate the Blues and Fulham in 12th, in a congested chase for continental competition.

Chelsea travel to face Brighton tomorrow night, with the Seagulls only a point behind Rosenior’s side.

Ahead of the game, the Chelsea coach admitted the top five looks difficult but said his team will keep fighting until the end.

“We’ve made it hard for ourselves, we have to be realistic and honest. We can’t give up, we have to keep fighting,” Rosenior said at his pre-match press conference.

“We have to make sure we go to Brighton with similar attributes to what I saw against Manchester United, in terms of energy, intensity and engagement to the game, which was good, but we didn’t keep a clean sheet and didn’t take advantage of our chances [against Manchester United]. We need to be clinical and ruthless.”
