Celtic are keeping a close eye on Danish striker Kasper Høgh, and according to Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, the Hoops' interest is far from fading. The Bodo/Glimt star has been on Celtic's radar since the winter window, but with time ticking, they may need to act fast—especially with Hearts also circling for a summer move.
The 25-year-old Denmark international started his career at Vorup FB before rising through Randers' academy. After a brief loan stint with Valur in Iceland, he found himself at Hobro in Denmark's second tier, where limited opportunities pushed him to seek a fresh start. AaB picked him up in January 2022, but it was a loan to Norwegian side Stabæk that truly set him on fire. Stabæk made the move permanent for €350k, only to sell him to Bodo/Glimt a year later for double that amount—€700k. And what a bargain that turned out to be.
Høgh has been nothing short of sensational for the Norwegian champions, racking up 50 goals and 19 assists in 98 appearances. His red-hot form, coupled with Bodo/Glimt's dream Champions League run, has seen his valuation skyrocket from £7m to £10m. That's a hefty price tag, but for a striker who can deliver on Europe's biggest stage, it might be worth every penny.
Celtic made a late push for Høgh during the winter window, with Norwich City also in the mix. But both clubs ultimately pivoted to other targets after failing to strike a deal. The Hoops brought in Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu to bolster their attack, but neither has done enough to earn a long-term contract. With the season winding down, Celtic's front line looks uncertain, and Høgh could be the missing piece.
The Bhoys are facing a major squad overhaul before next season. Despite battling for a domestic double, their form has been inconsistent across competitions. Manager Martin O'Neill has steadied the ship, but the club needs to find a long-term successor to lead the line. Høgh's blend of physicality, finishing, and European experience makes him an ideal fit for Celtic's ambitions. If they wait too long, they might just watch him slip away to a rival.
