Cavs vs Pistons predictions. Who wins Game 4 of NBA playoff series?

After Cleveland won Game 3 against Detroit, here are our predictions for Cavs vs. Pistons in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers entered Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Detroit Pistons with their backs against the wall. After dropping the first two games on the road, the fourth-seeded Cavs returned home to Rocket Arena and delivered a much-needed victory. Now, with Game 4 set for Monday, May 11 at 8 p.m., Cleveland has a chance to even the best-of-seven series and shift the momentum entirely.

One of the biggest storylines heading into Game 4 is the stark contrast between the Cavs’ home and road performances. Cleveland is a perfect 5-0 at Rocket Arena in these playoffs but a dreadful 0-5 on the road. That split has been the driving force behind their playoff fortunes, and while they’ll eventually need to prove they can steal a game in Detroit, that’s a challenge for Game 5. For now, the focus is on protecting home court once again.

The Cavs finally saw both Donovan Mitchell and James Harden deliver standout performances in Game 3—something that hadn’t happened since early in the Raptors series. Cleveland will likely need that dynamic backcourt duo to shine again. Center Jarrett Allen has also found his rhythm, posting strong outings in two of the last four playoff games, though consistency remains key. When the Cavs are clicking at home, they look like a team capable of competing with anyone in the East.

Health is another factor that could tip the scales. Backup shooting guard Sam Merrill returned to action in Game 3 after missing time with a left hamstring strain. In 14 minutes, Merrill contributed seven points on 2-of-4 shooting, including a 3-pointer, and posted a plus-minus of plus-4. More importantly, he drew two offensive fouls, taking charges from Pistons guard Cade Cunningham and forward Paul Reed at critical moments. Merrill’s defensive grit and energy off the bench could be a valuable weapon for Cleveland as the series progresses.

With the Cavs looking to even the series and the Pistons aiming to regain control, Game 4 promises to be a pivotal matchup. Can Cleveland ride the home-court wave, or will Detroit prove why they’re the top seed? One thing is certain: the energy at Rocket Arena will be electric.
