After a dominant 3-0 victory on the road against Fortuna Köln, Borussia Dortmund's women's team is riding high—but they know the real test is still ahead. Head coach Markus Högner praised his squad's composure in that win, noting, "We played a really good away game and performed very confidently against a motivated opponent with some very talented players."

Following the Friday night match in Cologne, the team dove straight into a full week of training, with only a short break on the public holiday. With just three matches left in the Regionalliga season, the second-placed side is laser-focused on finishing strong. "We are focusing on ourselves," Högner said. "The players are motivated, and we want to play as dominantly in these final games as we did last weekend."

Injury updates
Captain Paula Reimann is still being managed carefully after an Achilles tendon issue. She made a brief cameo off the bench in the 78th minute last weekend, and Högner confirmed, "We're still taking it easy on her in training." Meanwhile, Marina Scholz—who missed the last match with a thigh strain—could return to the squad on Sunday, though the coach wants to see how training goes on Friday and Saturday before making a call. Unfortunately, Marah Tayeh will miss the home game due to the flu.

Scouting the opponent
FSV Gütersloh may sit 10th in the table with 21 points from 23 games, but their defense is no joke. Only Dortmund, 1. FC Köln, and Arminia Bielefeld have conceded fewer goals this season (36). That stingy backline will test everything Dortmund has been working on in training. Högner has repeatedly stressed the importance of staying disciplined against deep-lying, defensively solid teams—and Gütersloh fits that mold perfectly.

"The most important thing will be that we remain patient," Högner emphasized. "We need to put them under pressure with our counter-pressing and then launch effective attacks."

Gütersloh, a young squad that was relegated from the 2. Bundesliga just last season, will be eager to prove themselves. But Dortmund's women are ready to keep their cool and chase another statement win at home.
