Bayern Munich were crowned Bundesliga champions and Borussia Dortmund secured UEFA Champions League football over the last two matchdays, but there’s still plenty on the line with three games remaining.
Only seven points separate Bayer Leverkusen in sixth and RB Leipzig in third with VfB Stuttgart and Hoffenheim also in the mix. However, Leipzig are the only team that can guarantee Champions League football for next season, should they beat Leverkusen at the BayArena this weekend.
No team can guarantee UEFA Europa League or Conference League this weekend.
Should Mainz, who have enjoyed a miraculous turnaround under Urs Fischer, beat St. Pauli this weekend, then the 05ers will be guaranteed top flight football.
Borussia Mönchengladbach can secure their Bundesliga status if they beat Dortmund and Pauli fail to beat Mainz, or if they draw, Pauli lose and Wolfsburg don’t beat Freiburg.
If Werder Bremen beat Augsburg and Pauli fail to beat Mainz, they too will secure their Bundesliga status. Additionally, if they draw, Pauli lose and Wolfsburg fail to win, that also guarantees their top flight place.
Should Union Berlin beat Cologne and Pauli fail to beat Mainz, they too will be safe. Or, if they draw, Pauli lose and Wolfsburg don’t win.
But they play Cologne, who can guarantee safety if they beat Union and both Pauli and Wolfsburg fail to win. Additioanlly, if Pauli and Wolfsburg fail to win and Hamburg beat Eintracht Frankfurt, then HSV will be playing Bundesliga football again.
After beating Union Berlin last weekend, Heidenheim lived to fight another day. However, they will be relegated this weekend if they fail to beat champions Bayern Munich and both Pauli and Wolfsburg win, or they lose and Pauli or Wolfsburg secure a win.
