The Bruins are trying to recapture their regular-season home magic.

The Boston Bruins are heading back to familiar territory with their season hanging in the balance—and they're hoping TD Garden feels like home again.

During the regular season, the Bruins were nearly unbeatable on their own ice, racking up 29 home wins—tied with Carolina for the most in the NHL and ahead of even the Presidents' Trophy-winning Colorado Avalanche. That dominant home form was a major reason Boston even made the playoffs.

But something has shifted since the postseason began. After dropping Games 3 and 4 at TD Garden by a combined score of 9-2, the Bruins now trail the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in their best-of-seven first-round series. One more loss, and their season is over.

The struggles at home aren't new, either. Boston has lost seven of its last nine home playoff games dating back to the 2023-24 season—a puzzling trend for a team that feeds off its crowd.

"It shouldn't be that way," head coach Marco Sturm said. "Playing at home should elevate your game."

Forward Mark Kastelic echoed that sentiment, calling Friday's Game 6 a chance to "rewrite the script" after the team's disappointing performance in Game 4.

"Everyone knows what happened the last time we were home. No one was happy with the result," Kastelic said. "We owe the fans at least one. That was an embarrassing effort in Game 4—not what our fans pay money for. We're glad we have a chance to redeem ourselves."

The Bruins will need to rediscover their regular-season magic quickly if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. With the series shifting back to Boston, the stage is set for a potential comeback—or a heartbreaking end to what was once a storybook season.
