It was a special Saturday for Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who returned to the University of Colorado to officially graduate with a degree in sociology. The 24-year-old signal-caller is gearing up for his second NFL season, but before hitting the gridiron again, he took a moment to walk the stage and celebrate a major milestone off the field.

Sanders starred for the Buffaloes under his father and head coach, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, after transferring from Jackson State. During his two seasons in Boulder, he helped revive the program's national relevance. The Buffs won nine games in 2024, climbed as high as No. 16 in the AP Poll, and even flirted with a Big 12 title game appearance. That year, Sanders posted impressive numbers: 4,134 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, just 10 interceptions, and a remarkable 74% completion rate.

Last spring, Colorado retired his No. 2 jersey alongside the No. 12 of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, who was selected second overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now, Sanders adds a college degree to his already decorated résumé — a fitting capstone for a player who has always balanced excellence on the field with dedication in the classroom.

As he prepares for his sophomore pro season with the Browns, Sanders proves that being a leader means finishing what you start. And with a degree in hand, he's ready to take the next step — both in football and in life.
