Browns head coach Todd Monken did not hide his excitement regarding the team's latest addition to the offensive line.
Speaking with Mary Kay Cabot on the selection of Utah tackle Spencer Fano, Monken emphasized that the prospect was the organization's top target from the jump.
The coach cited a specific trifecta of traits, character, toughness, and athleticism, as the deciding factors that set Fano apart from other available linemen. Monken also clarified the immediate plan for the rookie, confirming he will slot in at left tackle to protect the quarterback, whoever that will be, on their blindside.
This move provides significant clarity for a unit that has been undergoing a transformation. With Fano at left tackle, the Browns now have four of their five starting roles seemingly solidified.
The projected lineup features Zion Johnson at left guard, Tytus Howard anchoring the right tackle spot, and the versatile Elgton Jenkins positioned at either center or right guard.
This leaves just one primary question mark remaining in the starting five. While the right guard spot remains the final piece of the puzzle, the team feels secure with Tevin Jenkins on the roster.
