Gregor Brown is back in action – and Glasgow Warriors have their sights set on top spot in the United Rugby Championship.
The Scotland lock returns for Friday night's trip to face Ulster, marking his first appearance since representing his country in the Six Nations finale against Ireland two months ago. Brown's comeback is one of three changes to the Warriors lineup as they aim to seal pole position in the regular season standings.
Nathan McBeth slots into the front row alongside Johnny Matthews and Zander Fagerson, while Macenzzie Duncan joins the back-row, with Jack Dempsey missing out on the squad for Glasgow's final regular-season match.
The stakes couldn't be higher. Currently sitting one point clear of the Stormers, a bonus-point victory over Ulster would secure top spot – and with it, home advantage through the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final. For a team that thrives on the energy of their home crowd, that's a prize worth fighting for.
Head coach Franco Smith acknowledged the challenge ahead: "Ulster are a quality team who will be desperate to make it into the play-offs and continue their run of form ahead of the Challenge Cup final next week."
On Brown's return, Smith added: "We are pleased to welcome Gregor back. He has worked hard with our medical and strength and conditioning teams to put himself in the best position possible, and he is eager to get back onto the field."
Glasgow Warriors lineup: McBeth, Matthews, Z Fagerson, Brown, Samuel, Miller, M Fagerson, Duncan; Horne, Lancaster, Rowe, Tuipulotu, McDowall, Steyn, McKay.
Replacements: Hiddleston, Sutherland, Talakai, Oguntibeju, Ferry, Vailanu, Afshar, Smith.
With a win this Friday, the Warriors could lock in a dream run through the postseason – and fans will be eager to see if their team can deliver when it matters most.
