The Denver Broncos have made a pair of roster moves to accommodate two new additions from their rookie minicamp tryouts. After signing veteran wide receiver Mike Woods and rookie cornerback Paul Manning, the team waived cornerback William Wright and running back Deuce Vaughn on Tuesday to stay within roster limits.
Wright, who measures in at 6-0 and 198 pounds, had a limited college career at Tennessee. After a redshirt season in 2020 where he didn't see the field, he appeared in just two games in 2021. However, he found his stride as a key special teams contributor and rotational defensive back in 2025, recording 14 tackles, two pass breakups, and an interception.
Vaughn, a pint-sized 5-6, 173-pound running back, entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2023 draft out of Kansas State. Over 14 career games in Dallas, he managed 168 scrimmage yards on 50 touches before landing on Denver's practice squad last summer. He didn't see any game action in 2024.
The NFL's offseason roster limit is 90 players, but the Broncos receive an international exemption for Australian punter Jeremy Crawshaw, effectively giving them a 91-player ceiling. With these cuts, Denver now sits at exactly that limit, making every roster spot a battleground as training camp approaches.
