The Broncos' top three picks from their 2026 NFL draft class will sign injury protection deals to participate in rookie minicamp.

The Denver Broncos are gearing up for rookie minicamp, but their top three draft picks from the 2026 NFL class won't be putting pen to paper just yet. While the team's final four selections have already inked four-year deals, the highest-drafted rookies are holding off—at least for now.

According to Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette, fourth-round picks running back Jonah Coleman and offensive lineman Kage Casey won't sign before the camp kicks off. Denver Post reporter Parker Gabriel later added that third-round defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim is also waiting. Instead, all three will sign injury protection agreements to participate in the minicamp, which runs from May 8-10. The delay? Tomasson notes that these fourth-rounders are seeking two years of salary protection for injury in their rookie contracts. Negotiations are ongoing, and while deals are expected to be reached eventually, they won't be finalized before camp begins.

On a brighter note, the Broncos have already locked in tight ends Justin Joly and Dallen Bentley, safety Miles Scott, and linebacker Red Murdock. For now, Broncos fans will have to wait a little longer to see Onyedim, Coleman, and Casey officially join the squad.
