British fitness athletes Lauren Stockley and Charlie Searle have punched their tickets to the pinnacle of functional fitness competition, securing a spot at the Hyrox World Championships this June in Stockholm, Sweden.

The duo earned their place on the world stage with a gutsy second-place finish in the women's pairs event at the final major of the 2025-26 season in Warsaw, Poland. Their time of 52 minutes and 58 seconds was a testament to their resilience and teamwork.

This moment was particularly sweet, marking a redemption arc for Stockley and Searle. Just four weeks earlier at the EMEA event in London, they believed they had qualified, only to receive a heartbreaking 60-second penalty for a technical infraction on the sled pull. In Warsaw, they left no doubt, executing a clean and powerful race.

"We knew we had it in us to execute this race," a thrilled Stockley told BBC Sport Wales. "We have a great partnership and we'll go above and beyond for each other. All eyes on Stockholm now, we're ready for the World Championships."

Their performance in Poland was all the more impressive given the competition; the winning American pair of Lauren Weeks and Vivian Tafuto set a blistering new world record of 52:11.

For the uninitiated, Hyrox is the ultimate test of all-around fitness, blending endurance and strength. Competitors tackle 8km of running interspersed with eight punishing stations: a 1km ski erg, a 50m sled push and pull, 80m of burpee broad jumps, a 1km row, a 200m kettlebell carry, 100m of sandbag lunges, and finally, 100 medicine ball wall throws.

Stockley and Searle have now proven they belong among the global elite in this grueling sport, and their journey to Stockholm is one to watch for any fan of high-performance athleticism.
