Big changes are coming to the New Hampshire prep basketball scene. Brewster Academy, the powerhouse program based in Wolfeboro, has officially named its new head coach, and it's a homecoming story that fans will love.

On Friday, the school announced that Luke Rosinski will take over as head coach of the boys national prep basketball team and also serve as Director of Basketball Programs. For Rosinski, this isn't just a job—it's a dream come true.

"Growing up in New Hampshire, I watched this program rise on the national stage and had the opportunity to compete against it in the NEPSAC," Rosinski said in a statement. "To now return and lead the basketball program with such rich history, tradition, and national excellence is incredibly meaningful."

Rosinski inherits a program with legendary status, thanks to the man he's replacing. Jason Smith, who led the Bobcats for 26 seasons, stepped down to become head coach of the new Masters Academy International. During his tenure, Smith transformed Brewster Academy into a national juggernaut, capturing seven national prep championships and amassing over 700 career victories. That's the kind of legacy that puts a program on the map—and keeps it there.

The Bobcats are coming off a strong 2024-25 campaign, finishing 19-6 and earning the No. 1 spot in the final New Hampshire High School Boys Basketball Massey Rankings. That momentum should serve Rosinski well as he steps into the spotlight.

Brewster Academy, located in the scenic lakeside town of Wolfeboro, is known for more than just basketball. Its athletic program also features soccer, rowing, and other sports, but hoops has always been the crown jewel. With Rosinski at the helm, the Bobcats are poised to continue their tradition of excellence—and maybe even write a new chapter.
