In a major move to modernize officiating, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced a landmark partnership with Garmin, the global leader in high-performance sports technology. This collaboration is set to revolutionize how Brazil's top referees train and perform.

The initiative will see every referee, assistant referee, and VAR official in the elite PRO CBF category equipped with cutting-edge GPS monitoring technology. This system will allow the CBF's health and performance team to manage and analyze each official's physical data in real-time, whether they are at the training center or working remotely across the vast country.

Rodrigo Cintra, president of the CBF Refereeing Commission, emphasized the strategic value of the deal. "This is another step in our pursuit of excellence," Cintra stated. "With only one week of in-person work per month, this technology bridges the gap. We can now execute, monitor, and adjust training programs remotely, ensuring our officials are in peak condition for every match."

At the heart of the program is the Garmin Forerunner 970 watch, issued to each PRO CBF referee. This device provides the precise GPS tracking and biometric data needed for elite athletic monitoring. CBF Refereeing Director Netto Góes hailed the partnership as a transformative investment. "We are providing the most advanced technology available," Góes said. "Garmin is a respected brand used by international federations worldwide. This is a game-changing moment for the professionalization of Brazilian refereeing."

For Garmin, the partnership underscores its commitment to elevating performance at the highest levels of sport. By integrating this technology, Brazilian refereeing aims to achieve new standards of fitness and consistency, ensuring the officials on the pitch can keep pace with the world-class speed and intensity of the modern game.
