Braves Minor League Recap: Homers everywhere on Saturday

Atlanta Braves prospects hit nine homers across four games on Saturday.

Saturday was a power-packed day for the Atlanta Braves farm system, as prospects launched nine home runs across four minor league games. The highlight? Two players—Logan Braunschweig and Colby Jones—each smashed two homers in their respective games, putting on a show for fans tracking the next wave of Braves talent.

In Triple-A action, the Gwinnett Stripers rolled to an 11-run victory, fueled by a balanced attack. First baseman Rowdy Tellez continued his hot stretch, going 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs. Brewer Hicklen was a menace on the basepaths, finishing 3-for-4 with a walk, a triple, a stolen base, and three runs scored. Rehabbing infielder Ha-Seong Kim played a full game at shortstop and delivered a 2-for-4 day with a walk and a double, showing promising signs as he works back to full strength. Brett Wisely (2-for-5), Nacho Alvarez (three walks), and Jair Camargo (2-for-4) also reached base multiple times, as eight of nine starters got on safely.

On the mound, starter Lucas Braun turned in a gem: five innings of one-run ball, allowing just five hits and one walk while striking out six. He generated 10 whiffs before exiting after 82 pitches. Dylan Dodd followed with 1 2/3 innings, allowing two solo homers but otherwise keeping the game in hand. Tayler Scott recorded the final out of the seventh, and Daysbel Hernandez and Joel Payamps closed the door with scoreless frames.

Down in the lower levels, the power surge continued. Logan Braunschweig led the way with a 2-for-5, two-homer, four-RBI performance, while Isaiah Drake stayed red-hot with a 3-for-5 day that included a home run. Tate Southisene also got back in the hit column, and Colby Jones matched Braunschweig with a two-homer game of his own.

Unfortunately, the Columbus doubleheader was rained out early Saturday. One game has been rescheduled for Sunday, while the other is still awaiting a new date.

With nine homers in one day, the Braves' future is looking bright—and powerful. Whether you're tracking prospects for your fantasy team or just love seeing the next generation of stars, Saturday was a reminder that the Braves' pipeline is loaded with pop.
