The Buffalo Bills had a defensive-minded head coach for the better part of the last decade, but that was the side of the ball that seemed to have the most trouble in the postseason. Knowing they needed to beef up the defense, Buffalo selected Penn State defensive tackle Zane Durant with the 181st pick, the last selection of the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Nittany Lions defender is a massive inside piece for the Bills, standing at 6-1, 290 pounds. Durant had a productive career at Penn State, totaling 89 tackles, 22 of which were for a loss, 10 sacks, three passes defensed, and even an interception during his four seasons in State College.
Durant has an incredibly similar build to Buffalo’s stud defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who will likely become a role model for the newest Bill. The young defensive lineman possesses all the tools to become a significant contributor at the next level.
