The Big Ten Conference has officially unveiled its men's basketball slate for the 2026-2027 season, giving Rutgers fans plenty to look forward to. The Scarlet Knights are set to play a challenging 20-game conference schedule, facing off against 17 different opponents in what promises to be an exciting season ahead.

Following the same format as last season, Rutgers will have home-and-home series against three teams: Penn State, Maryland, and Purdue. The matchups with Maryland and Penn State keep a strong East Coast flavor in the schedule, while the battles with Purdue have historically delivered some of the most thrilling moments in recent Rutgers basketball history. The Scarlet Knights will be eager to prove they can compete at the highest level against a perennial powerhouse like the Boilermakers.

The remaining 14 conference games will be single-play matchups. Rutgers will host Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, UCLA, USC, and Wisconsin at Jersey Mike's Arena. On the road, they'll travel to Indiana, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Ohio State, and Washington.

Looking at the home schedule, Rutgers appears to have drawn a particularly tough hand. They'll welcome six of the nine Big Ten teams that qualified for last season's NCAA Tournament, including defending national champion Michigan and Final Four participant Illinois. In total, the Scarlet Knights will face 10 matchups against teams that danced in March Madness last season—a testament to the depth and quality of this year's conference slate.

Beyond conference play, Rutgers will also participate in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas, where they'll face a stacked field including Florida, Houston, Kansas, West Virginia, Auburn, Notre Dame, and UNLV. Specific game dates, times, and broadcast details for the 2026-2027 season will be released at a later date.
