Bernardo Silva is set to end his long association with Manchester City at the end of this season.

Silva has been integral to City’s recent success under Pep Guardiola.

He has scored 76 goals in 452 senior appearances, powering his side to six Premier League titles and a Champions League in 2023.

But the Portuguese is almost guaranteed to leave this summer, with his contract at the Etihad Stadium expiring in June.

According to ESPN, Silva believes he still has a place at a high level and wants to remain with a competitive team on the continent.

The 31-year-old is reportedly in no hurry to make a decision about his future.

He plans to wait for the World Cup before defining the next step in his career.

However, Silva doesn’t fancy a move to Saudi Arabia or an emotional return to his former club Benfica.

He has no shortage of suitors, with Arsenal and Barcelona credited with a transfer interest.

The Gunners are said to be monitoring the situation, but a transfer is not expected to happen.

This is because of the recent rivalry and history between Arsenal and City in the Premier League.

The North London club will likely not want to risk angering their supporters by signing a midfielder, who plays for a direct league rival.

A summer move to Barcelona appears more likely for the Portugal international.

The Catalan club’s financial troubles are well known, and so signing a player of Silva’s quality without any transfer fee could be appealing for them.
