The Bemidji State baseball team closed out its regular season with a bang—not just on the scoreboard, but in the record books. Despite falling 11-8 to Concordia-St. Paul on May 2 in Saint Paul, the Beavers swiped four bases in the finale, pushing their season total to 85 steals. That mark eclipses the previous program record of 82, set way back in 1989.

The milestone comes on the heels of another historic achievement: just a day earlier, Noah Drusch smashed the single-season home run record, proving this Beaver squad knows how to make its mark, even in a rebuilding year.

Sunday's game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading leads until the seventh inning. Tied at 8-8, Concordia-St. Paul broke through against Beavers pitcher Beau Barry, plating three runs to take control and secure the win.

Offensively, Matt Filippi led the charge, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. But the real star on the basepaths was Nash Rubins, who went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and three stolen bases—a performance that epitomized the Beavers' aggressive, record-setting style of play.

With the loss, Bemidji State finishes the season at 9-38. While that record may not turn heads, it marks the program's most wins since 2017—a clear sign of progress for a team that's rewriting its history, one stolen base at a time.
