England opener Tammy Beaumont hits an unbeaten 99 as The Blaze, Hampshire and Warwickshire claim victories in the Women's One-Day Cup.

England opener Tammy Beaumont may have missed out on a century, but her unbeaten 99 was more than enough to guide The Blaze to a commanding six-wicket victory over Somerset in the Women's One-Day Cup. The 35-year-old, recently omitted from England's T20 World Cup squad, responded in the best possible fashion, smashing her highest score of the season to keep her side firmly at the top of the table.

Batting at the Maer Ground in Exmouth, Beaumont's innings was a masterclass in controlled aggression, featuring 12 fours and a six off 109 balls. She found an able partner in Georgia Elwiss, who contributed a brisk 72 from just 76 deliveries, including 11 boundaries. Together, they stitched together a match-winning 131-run stand for the third wicket, propelling The Blaze to 224-4 with more than 10 overs to spare.

Somerset, after being put in to bat, had earlier recovered from a shaky 33-3 to post a respectable 222-9, thanks largely to Anika Learoyd's disciplined 97 off 118 balls. However, The Blaze's bowling attack, led by Charley Phillips (2-33) and Kirstie Gordon (2-37), ensured the total was never out of reach. This fifth consecutive win extends The Blaze's lead at the summit, while Somerset's fourth straight defeat sees them slip further adrift of the front-runners.

Elsewhere, last year's finalists Hampshire kept the pressure on the leaders with a 16-run victory over Yorkshire in a rain-affected contest. Batting first, Hampshire posted 205-7 from 38 overs, anchored by opener Ella McCaughan's composed 51. Francesca Sweet chipped in with a well-paced maiden half-century, while Amanda-Jade Wellington's unbeaten 41 provided the late fireworks. Jess Jonassen was the pick of the Yorkshire bowlers with 3-24.

In reply, Yorkshire's openers Lauren Winfield-Hill (35) and Georgie Boyce (22) got off to a flying start, adding 63 inside 13 overs. However, the chase lost momentum after their dismissals, and despite Sterre Kalis's fighting 46, Yorkshire finished on 196-8, falling short on the DLS method. The defeat leaves Yorkshire sixth in the table, with just three wins from seven outings.

Warwickshire also made a move, climbing to fourth place after a four-wicket victory over Lancashire. Mary Taylor starred with both bat and ball for the visitors, showcasing her all-round abilities to help her side secure a crucial win and keep their season firmly on track.
