England opener Tammy Beaumont delivered a masterclass performance, smashing an unbeaten 99 to guide The Blaze to a commanding six-wicket victory over Somerset in the Women's One-Day Cup. The 35-year-old international star fell just one run short of a well-deserved century but still posted her highest score of the season, proving why she remains one of the most feared batters in the competition.

Beaumont's innings was a treat for cricket fans, featuring 12 boundaries and a towering six off 109 balls. She found the perfect partner in Georgia Elwiss, who contributed a brilliant 72 from 76 deliveries with 11 fours, as the pair put on a match-winning 131-run partnership for the third wicket. The Blaze chased down their target of 223 with 10.5 overs to spare, finishing at 224-4 and solidifying their position at the top of the table.

Somerset, who were put in to bat first, looked in trouble early at 33-3 before Anika Learoyd steadied the ship with a gritty 97 off 118 balls. However, The Blaze's bowling attack proved too strong, with Charley Phillips (2-33) and Kirstie Gordon (2-37) leading the charge to restrict Somerset to 222-9. This fifth consecutive win keeps The Blaze firmly in the driver's seat, while Somerset's fourth straight defeat leaves them struggling to keep pace with the front-runners.

Meanwhile, last year's finalists Hampshire kept the pressure on the leaders with a hard-fought 16-run victory over Yorkshire in a rain-affected clash. Opening batter Ella McCaughan set the tone with a composed 51, while Francesca Sweet celebrated her maiden half-century in the competition with a well-paced 50. Amanda-Jade Wellington's unbeaten 41 helped Hampshire post 205-7 from 38 overs before they successfully defended an adjusted target of 213.

Yorkshire's chase started promisingly with openers Lauren Winfield-Hill (35) and Georgie Boyce (22) sharing a 63-run stand inside 13 overs, but the middle order couldn't build on that foundation. Sterre Kalis fought hard with 46, but the visitors ultimately finished on 196-8, falling short on the DLS method. The loss leaves Yorkshire in sixth place with four defeats in seven matches.

Elsewhere, Warwickshire climbed to fourth in the standings with a thrilling four-wicket victory over Lancashire. All-rounder Mary Taylor was the star of the show, impressing with both bat and ball to help her side secure the win and keep their campaign on track. With the competition heating up, every match is becoming crucial as teams jostle for position in the One-Day Cup standings.
