The Chicago Bears have selected Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman with the 25th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Chicago addresses a big defensive need in the secondary.
The Athletic's Dane Brugler raved about Thieneman: "Thieneman reminds me of Justin Reid because of his scheme-friendly recognition skills and eagerness to get busy as a run defender. He projects as a durable NFL starter and has versatility that should appeal to a variety of defensive structures."
The Bears lost both starting safeties Kevin Byard and Jaquan Brisker this offseason, but they did sign Super Bowl winner Coby Bryant. Now, they pair him with a young playmaker.
