Vincent Kompany has just won Bayern Munich’s 35 German football titles and there’s still more silverware up for grabs between now and the end of May. Even with key injuries at different times throughout the course of the season, the German Rekordmeister have been firing on all cylinders this season and are favorites to go on and win the Champions League after the small matter of Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinals.

From starting as a player/manager at Anderlecht, gaining promotion to the Premier League with Burnley and then getting relegated back down to the English Championship, the Belgian manager has well and truly exceeded expectations at Bayern and could very well end the season with four trophies, if you include the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup. Bayern have already broken the record for goals scored in a single Bundesliga campaign and only Pep Guardiola reached 50 Bundesliga wins with Bayern in fewer matches than Kompany, so it’s safe to say there’s really something special clicking with this current Bayern team.

As such, Kompany has certainly earned and been plenty deserving of his plaudits this season, but managing is the only thing on his mind — managing and taking the time off when he gets it. In the press conference ahead of Bayern’s DFB-Poka semifinal clash at Bayer Leverkusen, Kompany was asked about the prospect of potentially doing punditry work for this summer’s World Cup, potentially joining the ranks of Mats Hummels, Thomas Müller and Jürgen Klopp, who are all slated to do punditry work with MagentaTV.

“Absolutely no chance! Why would I do that in vacation time? Then I wouldn’t have any family in Munich next season. No chance,” Kompany replied with a slight chuckle when he was asked about television duties this summer (via @iMiaSanMia).

He’s certainly not a character that shies away from the press as a manager of FC Bayern, where the eyes of the world are always on you, but he’ll be more than deserving of a rest once the season’s over. Hopefully for his sake and Bayern’s the season will come to a conclusion on May 30th at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary for the Champions League final.
