Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is heading into a Champions League cauldron, but the former defender is radiating calm confidence. Holding a precious 2-1 lead from the first leg, his Bavarian giants are on the cusp of the semi-finals, yet they face the ultimate European test: a trip to the Santiago Bernabéu to face Real Madrid.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's monumental clash, Kompany acknowledged the fine margins that decide these elite encounters but emphasized his team's readiness. "The feeling is that we are prepared," he stated. "We have trained well and there is enthusiasm."

Reflecting on a first leg of two halves, where Bayern dominated early before Real Madrid surged late, Kompany sees room for improvement on both sides. "We could have scored more goals... They can gain confidence from that performance. We had a good feeling, and we can improve too."

However, the Belgian boss was quick to dismiss any notion that Real Madrid's current form tells the full story, issuing a stark warning about the threat they pose. "With the quality Real Madrid has, they’re always dangerous," he cautioned. "Their current results don’t reflect their true quality. They’re one of the best teams in the world."

Kompany is acutely aware of the legendary comebacks woven into the fabric of the club he's facing, from historic nights against Liverpool to Barcelona. Yet, his focus remains firmly on his own squad's performance. "I go to bed thinking about what we need to do better for the next match," he explained, highlighting a meticulous preparation designed to withstand the famous Bernabéu pressure and book Bayern's place in the final four.
