Nübel had a chance to prevent his parent team from clinching the league, Sieb and Mainz took a 2-0 lead to France in the Conference League, while Palhinha had a chance to help Spurs get out of the relegation zone. Peretz is also helping Southampton charge towards promotion and Guzmán is with the Colombia national team. See how this week played out this week and what they have coming in the next week:
There are 11 players from on loan from the first team.
There are three players from the first team on loan to the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Arijon Ibrahimović, and Armando Sieb.
Nübel got the start against his parent club and played opposite of his direct competition to be Neuer’s replacement. He made just one save before Bayern put three shots in a row on goal — and into the back of the net — in six minutes. He made his next save in the 52nd minute, but unfortunately for him, he put it onto the foot of Harry Kane, who scored Bayern’s fourth. On the day, Nübel recorded four saves but allowed the four goals. Stuttgart scored two and fell 4-2 in Munich.
Stuttgart will continue their DFB-Pokal title defense in a semi-final match at home against Freiburg on Thursday. They will also host a league match on Sunday against Werder Bremen.
Ibrahimović started for Heidenheim on the road against Freiburg. He had one shot attempt — missed just over the bar — and created three chances for his teammates to shoot. He also helped back on defense with a clearance and five recoveries. He was subbed off in the 72nd minute with the score level at 1-1. Freiburg scored in the 83rd minute to drop Heidenheim by a score of 2-1.
Sieb was on the bench for Mainz as they made the short international trip to France to face Stasbourg in the second leg of the Conference League quarterfinals. The 2-0 advantage that they earned in the first leg was wiped out by halftime and the score was 3-0 by the time that Sieb entered the match in the 72nd minute. Moments after he entered, the hosts scored another to go up two goal on the aggregate. Sieb created one chance for his teammates to shoot but could not get a shot attempt of his own. Mainz could not find a goal and fell 4-0 on the day, 4-2 on aggregate and crashed out of the competition.
On Sunday, Mainz was away to Mönchengladbach and Sieb was on the bench again. He entered the match in the 66th minute with his team down 1-0. He had one shot attempt — blocked — and created one chance for his teammates to shoot. Mainz scored a late equalizer in the eighth minute of stoppage time to draw 1-1 on the road.
Mainz will host the newly crowned champions, Bayern, on Saturday.
There are two players on loan to the English Premier League: João Palhinha and Jonah Kusi-Asare.
Tottenham hosted Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, hoping to get out of the drop zone. Palhinha came off the bench in the 67th minute with the match level 1-1. Moments after coming on, he had one of the best chances of the day when he put his only shot attempt on goal but a little too close to the keeper. Spurs took a lead about ten minutes later but allowed a late equalizer in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
Spurs are on the road to last place Wolves on Saturday.
Fulham U23’s season is over in the Premier League 2. Kusi-Asare was not in the matchday squad for Fulham’s first team match — a scoreless draw away to Brentford.
Daniel Peretz is the only player on loan to England’s Championship.
Pertez and Southampton continue to roll as they look for promotion to the Premier League. They hosted Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday and he started in goal. He needed three saves to earn a shutout at home. His teammates scored three goals and won 3-0.
Peretz started again in goal in Wales against Swansea on Saturday. He allowed a goal in the 20th minute but then kept the hosts off the board for the rest of the night. He made two saves in the last 70 minutes and saw has his team score two second half goals — including a 90th minute winner — to take a 2-1 win on the road. With the two wins, Southampton are in fourth place but just one point out of automatic promotion.
Southampton will host Bristol City on Tuesday in league play and then travel to Manchester to face City in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Bryan Zaragoza is the only player on loan to Serie A.
