St. Louis Battlehawks fans turned downtown into a vibrant sea of blue and white hours before kickoff Friday night, setting the stage for a thrilling 31-20 victory over the Columbus Aviators at The Dome at America's Center.

The electric atmosphere inside the Dome matched the pre-game party outside, as the Battlehawks improved to 5-2 and strengthened their playoff push. "We are here to party and scream our head off," said fan Adam Hancock, capturing the spirit of the night.

Running back Kylin James powered the offense with two rushing touchdowns on eight carries for 40 yards, while quarterback Luis Perez showcased his all-around game with 195 passing yards and two total touchdowns. The balanced attack kept Columbus on its heels throughout the first half, with Perez spreading the ball effectively and the defense limiting big plays from Columbus quarterback Jalan McClendon.

The Aviators stayed competitive behind McClendon's efficient 19-of-25 passing for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Tay Martin proved a reliable target with seven catches for 56 yards and a score, while Keke Chism added a late fourth-quarter touchdown that trimmed the lead but couldn't spark a full comeback.

Friday's win continues a special connection between the Battlehawks and St. Louis fans—a bond forged in 2020 after the Rams' departure. "It kind of started with the animosity towards Stan Kroenke, but it really for me has developed into something huge about the love of the game of football," said fan Michael Langston, tailgating before the game. "These guys are some really fun guys that you get to watch every single week."

As the Battlehawks push toward the postseason, that fan energy shows no signs of slowing down.
