The Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame is tipping off its biggest night yet, and basketball takes center stage at this year's induction ceremony. Held tonight at Lee's Family Forum in Henderson, the Class of 2026 reads like a who's who of Las Vegas hoops history—and it's shaping up to be one of the most memorable classes since the Hall began in 1997.

Headlining the inductees are names every local sports fan should know: Mark Davis, Tim Grgurich, Mark Warkentien, Cliff Findlay, and Ryan Moore. While the lineup spans multiple sports, the basketball connection runs deep. Grgurich and Warkentien—affectionately known as "Grg" and "Stein"—were key cogs in Jerry Tarkanian's legendary UNLV Rebels coaching staff during the program's golden era in the late '80s and early '90s. Their contributions helped shape a team that captured the nation's attention and brought a national championship to the desert.

Cliff Findlay, a former Rebels player from the late 1960s, adds another layer to the hardwood legacy. Beyond his own playing days, Findlay's impact on the game extended through his funding of Findlay Prep, a Henderson-based basketball powerhouse that produced Division I and NBA talent from 2006 to 2019. Already a 2001 SNSHOF inductee, he'll receive the organization's inaugural Legacy Award—a fitting tribute to a man who has given so much to the sport.

Mark Davis, meanwhile, brings a different kind of basketball royalty to the stage. While he's widely known as the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, it's his ownership of the Las Vegas Aces that truly cements his place in this class. The Aces are the reigning three-time WNBA champions, and Davis's leadership has helped elevate women's basketball to new heights in Southern Nevada.

Rounding out the class is Ryan Moore, a golfing giant who carved his path to glory on the fairways rather than the court. An NCAA champion under Hall of Fame coach Dwaine Knight, Moore has five PGA Tour wins to his name. While the joke among insiders is that he might not have been able to go left on the basketball court, his golf prowess makes him a deserving addition to this diverse group.

The event is sold out, and with such a basketball-heavy lineup, attendees might want to lace up their favorite sneakers for the occasion. Beyond the celebration, the night serves a greater purpose: raising thousands of dollars for youth sports initiatives and scholarships for local athletes. It's the one night each year where the entire Southern Nevada sports community comes together to honor excellence and invest in the next generation. And with this year's class, the future of local sports looks as bright as ever.
