
With all-around efficiency, the sixth-ranked Oregon State baseball team defeated Hawaii 8-1 today at Goss Stadium in Corvallis, Ore.
A crowd of 4,090 saw the Beavers amass 12 hits while holding the Rainbow Warriors to five to win the first two of this three-game series.
“Put these two behind us, and we’re ready to go (in Sunday’s series finale),” UH coach Rich Hill said.
OSU shortstop Tyler Inge went 3-4 with two RBIs. AJ Single and Jacob Galloway also drove in two runs apiece for the Beavers.
Left-hander Ethan Kleinschmit allowed three hits and a run in five innings to improve to 7-2. UH starting pitcher Hekili Robello (7-3) surrendered three runs in four innings.
The Beavers improved to 32-9, including 14-3 at Goss. The ’Bows, who fell to 20-18, are 2-4 on this 11-day, seven-game road trip.
