The summer transfer window is heating up, and Bayern Munich just got a significant boost in their pursuit of a key attacking target. Reports confirm that FC Barcelona has officially dropped out of the race for Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon, leaving the German giants with a clearer path—but also a tough decision to make.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona ended their interest due to Newcastle's staggering financial demands. The Magpies are reportedly holding out for a fee between €80-90 million for the 25-year-old English winger—a price tag that has proven too steep for even the biggest clubs.

While this development opens the door for Bayern, the Bavarians may be just as hesitant to meet those numbers. As a result, they've reportedly turned their attention to a more affordable alternative: AC Milan's Charles De Ketelaere. According to Kicker.de, the Belgian attacker is now a serious option for Bayern, especially given his versatility across the front three and in the number ten role—similar to what Gordon offers, but at a fraction of the cost.

Valued at just €35 million by Transfermarkt, De Ketelaere represents a significantly cheaper investment. And when Kicker journalists asked Bayern about their interest in the 25-year-old, the club did not deny it—a telling sign that a move could be in the works.

De Ketelaere joins a growing list of Gordon alternatives for Bayern, which also includes Barcelona loanee Marcus Rashford and Ajax's promising talent Mika Godts. For a club that prides itself on smart, efficient spending, this pivot could define their summer window.
