The Auburn Tigers are heading back to Sin City. After a thrilling run in last year's Players Era Men's Championship, the team has been confirmed for the 2026 edition of this premier college basketball showcase.
According to ESPN's Jeff Borzello, the annual Las Vegas event is getting a major upgrade. For the first time, the tournament will span two weeks and feature a total of 24 teams. Auburn will tip off during the opening week, competing in what's being called the "Players Era Eight" portion of the event, running from Nov. 16—just before Thanksgiving.
The Tigers will be in elite company. Joining them on the court will be Houston, Kansas, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Rutgers, UNLV, and SEC rival Florida. That's a stacked lineup that promises high-stakes action from the opening tip.
This year also brings significant changes to the tournament format. ESPN has secured broadcast rights and will air all 37 games over the two-week event, taking over after a two-year run on Turner networks. Perhaps the biggest change? The tournament is shifting to a bracket-style format. In previous years, teams played two locked-in opponents before a third game determined by record and scoring margin. Now, it's a true bracket battle—adding even more intensity to every possession.
For Auburn, this marks a return to familiar territory. Last season, the Tigers made noise in Las Vegas, defeating both Oregon and St. John's before falling to eventual national champion Michigan. That experience should serve them well as they look to make an even deeper run this time around.
Official dates, tip-off times, venue, and specific opponents are still to be announced. But one thing is clear: Auburn fans have another exciting trip to Vegas to look forward to.
