Jackson Vaughn, a standout EDGE rusher from New Jersey, has Auburn football firmly in the mix as he prepares to make his college commitment. The 2027 prospect, who recently moved up from the 2028 class, is narrowing down his options and has the Tigers among his top choices.

Vaughn, a three-star recruit from Oradell, New Jersey, is drawing interest from a powerhouse list of programs including Notre Dame, Texas, Alabama, Cal, and Miami. In a recent chat with Rivals' Chad Simmons, Vaughn emphasized he's searching for the "best fit" in terms of both scheme and culture—and Auburn checks those boxes. He sees himself thriving in the Tigers' defense, particularly at the JACK linebacker position, where his pass-rushing skills could shine.

Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 220 pounds, Vaughn has already made a name for himself at Bergen Catholic High School. Over two seasons, he's racked up 56 tackles and an impressive 22.5 tackles for loss, showcasing the disruptive ability that has coaches taking notice. Currently ranked as the No. 33 EDGE rusher in the 2027 cycle by Rivals, he's also the No. 4 player from New Jersey in his class.

While Auburn is in the hunt, Notre Dame currently holds a strong lead in the prediction game, with Rivals forecasting a 94.1% chance Vaughn lands in South Bend. Still, the Tigers remain a serious contender, and with his decision looming, the race is far from over. For Auburn fans, keeping an eye on this talented young pass rusher could pay off big down the road.
