Auburn baseball's rising star, Ethin Bingaman, continues to shine bright in the SEC. The talented freshman was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the third time this season on Monday, May 11, following a standout performance in the Tigers' series win over Mississippi State in Starkville.
Bingaman powered Auburn to victory with an impressive 5-for-12 showing at the plate, including three runs, a home run, and three RBIs. This marks his third SEC Freshman of the Week honor, having previously earned the award on Feb. 23 and again on Apr. 27.
The Tigers are now riding a six-game winning streak in SEC play, and Bingaman has been a key contributor throughout. In conference games alone, he's tallied 20 runs, six home runs, and 23 RBIs—leading all SEC freshmen in RBIs during conference play. His overall numbers are equally impressive: a team-leading .394 batting average, 46 runs, 10 home runs, and 36 RBIs on the season.
For a young player to make such an impact in the competitive SEC, it's clear Bingaman is one to watch. His consistency at the plate and ability to deliver in clutch moments have made him a cornerstone of Auburn's lineup.
Looking ahead, the Tigers are set to close out the regular season with a midweek matchup against Jacksonville State on Tuesday, May 12, before wrapping up SEC play with a crucial series against No. 5 Georgia starting Thursday, May 14. With Bingaman swinging a hot bat, Auburn fans have plenty of reasons to be excited.
