Atletico Madrid returns to La Liga action this Saturday as they host Celta Vigo at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, looking to bounce back from a heartbreaking Champions League exit at the hands of Arsenal. The semi-final defeat in London was a tough pill to swallow, but Diego Simeone's men know there's no time to dwell—every point matters in the race for a top-three finish.

However, the injury list is growing longer by the day. Star forward Julian Alvarez has been ruled out after aggravating an ankle injury during that Arsenal clash, leaving a glaring hole in attack. Midfield is also hit hard: Johnny Cardoso is done for the season with a high-grade ankle sprain, while Pablo Barrios and Nicolás González remain sidelined with persistent thigh issues. To make matters worse, Giuliano Simeone is a major doubt. That means Alexander Sorloth is expected to lead the line, with Obed Vargas and Koke anchoring the midfield.

Despite these setbacks, Atletico have shown resilience. They've won their last two La Liga matches, including a solid 2-0 victory over Valencia, and currently sit 4th with 63 points. A win here would do wonders for their confidence and league position.

Celta Vigo, meanwhile, arrive in the capital with European dreams of their own. But they're not exactly in perfect shape either. Manager Claudio Giráldez will be without Javi Rueda, who's suspended after picking up five yellow cards, and Carl Starfelt is still out with a back injury. The midfield also has question marks, with Matías Vecino a major doubt due to a muscle issue.

There is some good news, though: Marcos Alonso is back from suspension, bringing much-needed experience to the backline. Up front, expect Iago Aspas and Ferran Jutgla to lead the charge, looking to exploit an Atletico side that might be feeling the emotional and physical toll of their European campaign.

With both teams dealing with key absences, Saturday's clash promises to be a battle of depth and determination. For Atletico, it's a chance to prove they can grind out results even when the odds are stacked against them.
