The Georgia Bulldogs have landed a late but impactful commitment for their 2026 recruiting class, and it comes with a familiar last name. Running back Nick Peal, the half-brother of former Georgia cornerback Chris Peal, has officially pledged to the Bulldogs, as reported by Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports.
Standing at 6 feet and weighing 210 pounds, Peal brings an impressive athletic profile to Athens. During his senior season at Roswell High School, he rushed for 1,395 yards and 19 touchdowns, showcasing both power and explosiveness. His combine-style numbers are equally eye-catching: a 4.48-second 40-yard dash, a 41-inch vertical leap, and a 405-pound bench press. He can squat over 600 pounds and power clean 385, proving he has the strength to compete at the next level.
Despite these standout measurables, Peal entered the recruiting cycle as an unranked prospect. Offers were scarce, coming only from Delta State and Gardner-Webb University. But the Bulldogs quietly stayed in the picture, and now Peal is headed to Athens on a full scholarship—a turn of events he admits caught even him off guard.
“If you had told me all of this was going to happen after my last game at Roswell, I would’ve told you that you were crazy,” Peal told DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell. “But another part of me would be like, of course, because I always kept that confidence in myself close to my heart. From day one, since I started playing the sport. I know what type of kid I am and know that if I believe in God, anything can happen. So I kept praying.”
Peal’s commitment adds depth to a Georgia backfield that has long been a pipeline for NFL talent. He joins the Bulldogs as one of just two unsigned recruits in the 2026 class, alongside four-star defensive back Chace Calicut. However, Calicut appears unlikely to sign with Georgia, having visited other programs this spring.
For Peal, this commitment is the culmination of perseverance and belief. His half-brother Chris signed with Georgia in 2023 before transferring to Syracuse to play under former Bulldogs defensive backs coach Fran Brown. Now, Nick Peal will write his own chapter in the red and black, turning what once seemed like an impossible dream into reality.
