In a dazzling display of attacking football, Arsenal's Swedish stars stole the show as the Gunners swept aside Leicester City 7-0 at the Emirates Stadium in the Barclays Women's Super League. Smilla Holmberg marked a special night with her first-ever Arsenal goals, adding an assist to her tally, while fellow countrywoman Stina Blackstenius also bagged a brace in what was a truly memorable evening for the north London club.

Manager Renée Slegers made a tactical masterstroke by deploying Holmberg in a more advanced right-wing role, rather than her usual position at right-back. The decision paid immediate dividends as the Swedish international showcased her attacking prowess with two well-taken goals and a crucial assist. Her first came from a perfectly timed run, picking up Frida Maanum's pass before calmly slotting into the far corner to make it 2-0.

"It was very fun and it's always fun to play at Emirates and with this team," Holmberg said after the match. "It was a special night and it was very fun. I like to be involved in the offensive part as well, so I just try to control my qualities and enjoy the game today."

The second half saw Holmberg continue her masterclass, turning in a cross from Olivia Smith for her second goal before delivering the corner that Leah Williamson headed home for Arsenal's seventh. For a player more accustomed to defensive duties, it was an emphatic statement about her versatility and attacking threat.

"I worked really hard and it's just a great feeling to score my first goal at this special club," Holmberg reflected. "Again, I'm just so proud. I've dreamed of scoring my first goal here at Emirates, so it was so fun and I really enjoyed it."

The result sees Arsenal move into third place, two points ahead of Manchester United and eight behind leaders Manchester City, with two games in hand. For the Gunners and their Swedish contingent, the message is clear: when the stars align, they can be simply unstoppable.
