Arizona women's basketball is making serious noise on the recruiting trail, and head coach Becky Burke is just getting started. After calling the 2025-26 season "Year 0" due to a late start in recruiting, Burke's first full class has already turned heads—landing in the top 20 nationally.

Both 247Sports and ESPN have released their rankings for incoming freshmen, and the Wildcats are earning major respect. 247Sports ranks Arizona's 2026 class at No. 20 in both its internal and composite rankings, while ESPN is even more impressed, placing Burke's group at No. 17. For a program in transition, that's a statement.

The class features six talented players, highlighted by the recent additions of guard Arynn Finley and forward Karolina Ułan. They join guards Makayla Presser-Palmer and Jasleen Green, as well as forwards Priyanka Ponnam and Callie Hinder. It's a balanced mix of backcourt firepower and frontcourt depth that should pay dividends in the seasons ahead.

247Sports rates both Finley and Green as four-star recruits, with Green drawing particular praise. She checks in at No. 53 in 247's internal rankings, though she slips to No. 65 in the composite due to slightly lower marks from ESPN (No. 62) and Rivals (No. 75). Still, her game speaks volumes.

Brandon Clay, a national scout for 247Sports, wrote about Green back in July 2025: "Green is a skilled option in the backcourt who can make shots and plays off the bounce. She proved herself to be amongst the southeast elite backcourt options in the junior class. Green might not be the quickest guard from end-to-end, but she finds a way to get where she’s going. Green’s ability to make positive plays playing on or off the basketball is a potential separator at the collegiate level. If Green can find her way to buckets in college like she has in high school, she’ll be a key addition to a NCAA Tournament caliber program roster."

In 247's position-specific rankings, Green is listed as the No. 9 shooting guard nationally and the No. 7 player from Florida. In the composite, she sits at No. 12 among shooting guards and No. 8 from the Sunshine State. Rivals also breaks down its rankings, further underscoring the depth of talent Burke is assembling.

For Arizona fans, this class signals that Year 1 of the Burke era is shaping up to be something special. With a mix of highly rated guards and versatile forwards, the Wildcats are building a foundation that could make them a force in the Pac-12 and beyond. And if Green lives up to the scouting reports, she might just be the centerpiece of a program on the rise.
