The Arizona Wildcats have made a significant addition to their frontcourt, securing a commitment from Idaho State transfer center Evan Otten. The 6-foot-11, 240-pound big man, who has two years of eligibility remaining, officially signed with the program Friday evening.

Otten, a Redmond, Oregon native, brings a formidable defensive presence to Tucson. As a redshirt sophomore, he averaged 4.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, but it's his shot-blocking that truly stands out. He led the Big Sky Conference with an impressive 1.8 blocks per game, ranking 14th nationally in that category. His ability to protect the rim will be a valuable asset for Arizona's defensive schemes.

The addition of Otten bolsters an already promising frontcourt rotation. He joins a group that includes Motiejus Krivas, Nebraska transfer Ugnius Jarusevicius, Dutch freshman Endurance Aiyamenkhue, and redshirt freshman Mabil Mawut. While Jarusevicius is expected to serve as the primary backup behind Krivas, Otten provides crucial insurance, especially given Jarusevicius's history of lingering back issues. This depth ensures the Wildcats can maintain a strong interior presence throughout the season.

Otten becomes the seventh addition to Arizona's roster for the 2026-27 season. The program still has one open scholarship remaining, which is expected to be used to address the power forward position. All eyes are now on Koa Peat, as the team awaits his decision on whether to enter the NBA Draft or return to college, a choice that will shape the final piece of Arizona's roster puzzle.
