High school track and field, softball, baseball, soccer and golf teams were in action.

Saturday was a big day for high school sports in the Appleton area, with track and field, softball, baseball, soccer, and golf teams all in action. Here's a look at the standout performances from the day's events.

Boys Track and Field

Arrowhead took home the boys team title with 54 points, while Green Bay Preble finished sixth with 29 points. Preble's Maximus Davis cleared 14-9 to win the pole vault. Xavier's Wyatt Rouamba leaped 44-6.5 for third in the triple jump, just ahead of Preble's Nicholas VanCalster (44-3) in fourth. Denmark's Lincoln Arneson ran a strong 400 meters, finishing third in 49.34 seconds. The Green Bay Preble 800 relay team of Huj Chi Vang, Jacob Mathys, Gavin Sullivan, and Isaiah Flowers placed fifth in 1:30.49, while the 3,200 relay squad of Jacob Nuthals, Louis Jean-Baptiste, Brayden Michaels, and Bryce Voskuil also took fifth in 8:04.06.

Girls Track and Field

Arrowhead also claimed the girls team title with 95.75 points. Neenah finished third with 43.25 points, and Kimberly was seventh with 27 points. Neenah's Emma Severson dominated the throwing events, winning the shot put (47-4) and discus (152-6). Teammate Celia Gentile took first in the long jump (19-7.5) and second in the triple jump (36-10.75). Xavier's Caroline Basehoar cleared 12-0 for second in the pole vault, while West De Pere's Aubrey Kempen tied for fifth at 11-0. Kimberly's Madison Krueger ran 2:19.56 for third in the 800, and teammate Theresa Behnke threw 141-5 for second in the discus. Pulaski's Emerson Fabry finished fourth in the 1,600 (5:09.39), and teammate Maggie Gerth was second in the 3,200 (11:11.18). In the hurdles, West De Pere's Kaylin Thomson ran 14.88 for third in the 100 hurdles, with Xavier's Hailey Hafner right behind in 14.94. Kimberly's Carly Poggemann took third in the 300 hurdles in 46.53 seconds. Denmark's 800 relay team of Ella Ovsak, Ella Denor, Lillian Sosnosky, and Riley Guns placed fifth in 1:44.53.

More Track Action

At another meet, New London scored 176 points to win the team title, ahead of Weyauwega-Fremont (148), Iola-Scandinavia (124), Manawa (102), Waupaca (77), Clintonville (25), and Marion/Tigerton (17). New London's 1,600 relay team of Kaden Bethke, Drew Peters, Cory Brooker, and Collyn Elsholtz took first in 3:38.94, while the Bulldogs' 3,200 relay squad also performed well.
