FC Augsburg made it back-to-back away wins at Werder Bremen with a commanding 3-1 victory on Saturday, and the star of the show was none other than Anton Kade. The young German international delivered his first-ever Bundesliga brace, lighting up the Weserstadion with a performance that had fans on their feet.

"I'm really happy to have scored my first Bundesliga brace," said the Germany U21 international after the match. "The three points are massive. We scored at exactly the right moments. There's a really strong connection in the team at the moment. But we'll only see where we really stand at the end of the season."

Kade's double strike set the tone for Augsburg, who also benefited from a crucial halftime substitution. Kristijan Jakic replaced Han-Noah Massengo just before the break to avoid the risk of a second booking, and the move paid off handsomely. Jakic added the third goal after the interval, sealing a result that felt both decisive and deserved.

Since Manuel Baum's return to the club, Augsburg have been on a remarkable run, collecting 30 points from 20 games. The 46-year-old caretaker manager has a knack for success at this venue—he was also in charge during Augsburg's 3-0 win here in 2017, making it two memorable trips to Bremen under his guidance.

"It was a tough game, but we dealt with it better as the game went on," Baum reflected. "The positive thing was that we were extremely ruthless today and scored two really good goals before the break. The team deserves huge credit for that performance. It showed the quality and depth we have in the squad."

With 40 points now on the board, Augsburg are eyeing a push for European qualification. Their upcoming fixtures against two bottom-half teams—Borussia Mönchengladbach and Union Berlin—offer a golden opportunity to build on this momentum. For a club that thrives on underdog grit, the dream of continental football is starting to feel very real.
