While Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes have made headlines with their transfer portal prowess, they've just secured a major building block for the future. Four-star quarterback Andre Adams from Antioch, Tennessee, announced his commitment to Colorado, choosing the Buffaloes over a strong group of finalists that included Florida State, Kentucky, and Virginia Tech.

Adams's decision adds a high-ceiling, dual-threat talent to a program looking to establish long-term success. His commitment is a significant win for Deion Sanders' staff, signaling their ability to attract elite high school prospects alongside veteran transfers.

"I felt like Colorado was the most genuine school I stepped foot in," Adams said. After taking unofficial visits to all four finalists this spring, a return trip to Boulder the weekend before his decision sealed the deal. "I knew from there that they were the one."

The stats behind his four-star rating are nothing short of spectacular. Entering his senior season, Adams has already rewritten his high school's record books, throwing for 7,541 yards and 71 touchdowns while adding 2,316 yards and 35 scores on the ground. His junior year was a model of efficiency and production: a TSSAA Class 6A Mr. Football finalist, he completed 71% of his passes for 3,418 yards, 35 touchdowns, and a mere one interception, while also leading his team in rushing.

Adams understands the spotlight that comes with this decision. "Doing this just means I have to keep going," he stated. "I got a role to play and people looking up to me so I have to succeed." With his pledge, he becomes the second commitment in Colorado's 2027 class, joining three-star defensive back Davon Dericho, and gives Buffaloes fans a thrilling quarterback prospect to watch develop in Boulder.
