Corinthians head coach Fernando Diniz has a golden opportunity to hand a starting spot to his trusted midfielder Allan, following the suspension of André, who was sent off in last round's Brazilian Championship clash against Vasco.

André's red card leaves a gap in midfield for Sunday's (3) match against Mirassol, and all signs point to Allan stepping into the starting lineup. According to UOL, the defensive midfielder is a favorite of Diniz, having previously worked with the coach at Fluminense in 2019. Allan's playing style and chemistry with Diniz make him a natural fit for the role.

Interestingly, Diniz had considered replacing André with Allan for the recent Libertadores match against Peñarol but ultimately kept the youngster in the XI. However, the internal assessment now suggests Allan is in better form than André, justifying the tactical switch.

Corinthians will be without several key players for the Mirassol clash. In addition to André, center-back Gustavo Henrique and midfielder André Carrillo are suspended. The medical room is also crowded, with João Pedro Tchoca, Charles, Vitinho, and Memphis all sidelined. As a result, midfielder Raniele may be deployed out of position at right-back to shore up the defense.

This shake-up gives Corinthians a chance to test new dynamics under Diniz, with Allan poised to seize the moment and prove his worth in the black-and-white jersey.
