Massimiliano Allegri has brushed aside concerns over Christian Pulisic's goal drought in 2026, confirmed the replacements for injured star Luka Modric, and kept tight-lipped on Rafael Leao's potential summer exit. The AC Milan boss faced the media in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's clash with Sassuolo, delivering a mix of reassurance, squad updates, and a clear Champions League target.

Allegri opened with a heartfelt tribute to former Formula One driver and Paralympian Alex Zanardi, who passed away at 59. "It's right to remember Zanardi—an example in life, of human and sporting values. He poured professionalism and passion into sport. My condolences to his family. He had amazing values," Allegri said, setting a reflective tone.

Turning to the pitch, the biggest challenge for Allegri is reshaping his midfield after Luka Modric's season-ending fractured cheekbone, suffered against Juventus last weekend. "We're very sorry about this bad injury, which will keep him out until the end of the season, even if he has a big desire to come back," Allegri noted. "He shows so much passion for his work, and I hope this has been a lesson for the other players."

Allegri has two trusted options to step in: Jashari and Ricci. "We have great players to replace him—either Jashari or Ricci, who have grown a lot and in whom I have a lot of confidence," he explained. "Jashari has grown a lot. Unfortunately, he had a bad injury at the start of the season that kept him out for a long time. He has desire, he's curious, he has his whole future ahead of him. I think Milan made an excellent signing."

When asked about recent talks with Milan's senior management, Allegri downplayed any drama. "It's normal. Evaluations aren't just made about the future, but also on how the season has gone so far, even if the final evaluation will be made at the end of the season," he said. "We've created a base, but we need to get into the Champions League. That's our target—some values don't change."

With the Rossoneri pushing for a top-four finish, Allegri's focus remains steady: no panic over Pulisic's form, a clear plan for Modric's absence, and an unwavering eye on Europe's elite competition. For fans and fashion-forward supporters alike, this is a squad built on resilience—ready to battle for every point.
