Campbell University has found its next leader for the women's basketball program, and she brings championship pedigree and a proven track record of success. Ali Jaques, fresh off a historic season as associate head coach at Rhode Island, has been named the Fighting Camels' new head coach.

Jaques joins Campbell after a standout 2025-26 campaign where she helped Rhode Island shatter program records with 28 wins. She served as the right-hand woman to Tammi Reiss, who recently departed for the head coaching job at Florida. The move marks Jaques' return to the helm of a program, following a nine-season stint as head coach at Siena.

"Campbell is a great place and that was evident from the moment I stepped on campus," Jaques said. "I knew right away this is where I wanted to be and this is the program that I want to lead."

She inherits a Campbell squad coming off a solid 20-12 season and a 13-5 mark in the Coastal Athletic Association. With a strong foundation already in place, expectations are high for Jaques to build on that momentum.

"Ali is ready to lead her own program and I have no doubt she will turn Campbell into a championship program," Reiss said.

Jaques brings nearly three decades of coaching experience to Buies Creek. Her resume includes stops at George Washington, Seton Hall, Northwestern, Dayton, Furman, Sacred Heart, and Rider. But before she was shaping programs from the sidelines, Jaques was making history on the court. She was a standout two-sport athlete at New York University, playing both soccer and basketball. In 1997, she helped lead the Violets to the NCAA Division III women's basketball championship, following a Final Four appearance the year prior.

Now, she's ready to bring that same championship mindset to Campbell.
