Just last week, Alex Fitzpatrick wasn't even a PGA Tour pro. Now, he's living a dream that keeps getting better.

Everything changed when Fitzpatrick and his older brother Matt won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, earning Alex a two-year PGA Tour card and spots in the remaining Signature Events. The victory followed his earlier win at the Hero Indian Open on the DP World Tour, making 2026 a career-defining year.

Now, in his very first event as a PGA Tour member, Fitzpatrick is battling more than just the course at Trump Doral. He's managing a "whirlwind" of emotions while fighting for the lead and the $3.6 million winner's prize at the Cadillac Championship.

After celebrating the Zurich Classic win, he quickly flew to Florida to tee it up again. In his Friday press conference, Fitzpatrick opened up about how dramatically his life has changed in just days.

"The text messages and stuff has slowed down, but the overwhelming feeling… and happiness is yet to go away," Fitzpatrick said. "I think for me this year it's going to be a whirlwind and no matter what happens it will be a success."

He added, "I can't believe how many people have come up to me and congratulated me and players and caddies and staff, it's been incredible. So yeah they really made me feel welcome, and that was really nice."

The most special moment, of course, came when he and his brother sealed the win in New Orleans. "Winning with my brother kind of far exceeded any expectations I ever had," Fitzpatrick shared. "I can't quite describe the feeling I had tapping in and looking over at my brother on 18. It's impossible to try and translate into words."

He admitted, "I don't know how it would have felt winning by myself." But he did promise one thing: "I'm sure the rest of this year you'll see me with a smile on my face no matter what."

Whether Fitzpatrick walks away with the trophy this week or not, his rapid rise from DP World Tour winner to PGA Tour contender is the kind of story that reminds us why we love golf. And you can bet he'll be doing it in style—every great champion needs the right gear for the journey ahead.
