The Boston Red Sox will deploy a new-look lineup for Wednesday night's rivalry game against the New York Yankees.

Alex Cora will attempt to wake up Boston's offense following Tuesday's 4-0 loss. Willson Contreras is the only player maintaining the same spot in Wednesday's batting order against Max Fried at Fenway Park.

Roman Anthony will sit due to a back issue, per MassLive's Christopher Smith. Ceddanne Rafaela will instead draw his first leadoff assignment of the season.

Rafaela began the year in the No. 9 hole and has started higher than No. 6 just once. Yet the center fielder boasts a .373 on-base percentage and has garnered a hit in 13 of his last 16 games.

Contreras bats second at first base again, and right fielder Wilyer Abreu hits third after spending Tuesday in the cleanup role. Trevor Story bats No. 4 for the fifth time amid a rough start.

Andruw Monasterio starts at designated hitter against New York's left-handed ace. The offseason acquisition is 1-for-12 against southpaws this season.

Jarren Duran will bat sixth at center field after not starting Tuesday's game against right-handed Luis Gil. The 29-year-old's playing time has diminished while brandishing a .162/.240/.250 slash line.

Caleb Durbin draws another start at third base in the No. 7 spot despite batting .155 with no home runs. The 5-foot-6 infielder can certainly use a breakout performance against his former organization.

A struggling Carlos Narváez takes a seat with Connor Wong making his first start behind the plate since Saturday. With Marcelo Mayer sitting against a lefty, Isiah Kiner-Falefa rounds out the lineup at second base.

Ranger Suarez takes the mound for Boston after two straight scoreless outings. Wednesday's game starts at 6:45 p.m. ET on NESN.
