Alaska's high school sports scene delivered a week of thrilling action, with soccer, track and field, and more taking center stage. From dominant shutouts to nail-biting finishes, here's a recap of the standout performances and team scores you need to know.

Girls Soccer Heats Up
Tuesday's matches set the tone with a mix of blowouts and close contests. Soldotna crushed Seward 8-0, while Houston edged Redington 3-2 in a tighter affair. Monroe Catholic blanked North Pole 3-0, and West Valley topped Lathrop 2-1. The biggest statement came from South, who demolished Bartlett 22-0, while Chugiak squeezed past Service 4-3 and West beat East 4-0.

Thursday saw more dominant performances: Palmer shut out Redington 8-0, Soldotna continued their winning streak with a 9-0 victory over Monroe Catholic, and Wasilla and West Valley played to a 0-0 draw. South again impressed with a 13-0 win over Chugiak, while Eagle River beat East 4-0 and Dimond defeated Service 2-0.

Friday's action featured Juneau-Douglas topping Colony 5-1 and Wasilla securing a 6-... victory, keeping the momentum alive as the season progresses.

Track and Field: Chugiak Dominates Team Standings
On the track, Chugiak emerged as a powerhouse, leading both the boys' and girls' team standings. In the boys' division, Chugiak scored 131 points, far ahead of second-place Service with 75. South took third with 72, while East and Dimond tied for fourth with 61 each. Kodiak and Eagle River tied for sixth with 37 points, followed by West (36), Delta Junction (28), Tri-Valley (27), Unalakleet (25), Bartlett (23), West Valley (2), and Palmer (1).

The girls' standings saw Chugiak again on top with 158 points, followed by East Anchorage (81), Dimond (65), West (61), South (54), Kodiak (53), Bartlett (31), Eagle River (25), Palmer and Service tied at 20, Delta Junction and Valdez tied at 11, and Nenana with 4.

Individual Stars Shine
Mountain City Christian Academy athletes stole the spotlight in individual events. Jieaya Siatini-Williams posted impressive times and distances, including a 38′06.50 in the 300m hurdles and a 119′05.00 in the discus. Kate Matthew also excelled with a 31′02.00 in the shot put.

On the boys' side, Breyden Nottingham ran a strong 9:46.68 in the 3200m, while Liam Pettit clocked 45.418 in the 300m hurdles. Joshua Woko showed versatility with a 20′00.25 in the long jump and a 43′11.75 in the shot put, securing top finishes for his team.
